Molten gold copper silver metal quartz dish

It is a porous substance composed of silica, aluminum oxide and a small amount of calcium magnesium and other impurities;

 At room temperature and pressure, it is colorless transparent or milky white solid powder, with metallic luster or no obvious color change.

Because of its very stable chemical properties and high temperature and corrosion resistance, it is widely used in refractory materials in 

the metallurgical industry as smelting containers and liners.

(Note: The graphite crucible used in steelmaking is made from natural, scale-like quartz crystals.)

1. Ingredients:

The main components of quartz sand are SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3. Among them, the content of SiO2 is generally above 95%, sometimes up to 99%, 

and can reach 99.9%. The rest is a small amount of CaF2 (0.02 ~ 0.05%) and a trace amount of MnO2. In addition, it contains SrCl4, TiO3, V4O8 (less than 0.01%). 

Although the amount of these elements is small, they are indispensable raw materials for the manufacture of glass products.

2. Features:

(1) Physical properties:

The appearance is characterized by irregular granular or lamellar aggregates of white particles. Its surface is smooth and delicate, 

and it is lubricated by hand without rough feeling. The hardness is about 7 (Mohs hardness unit), the density is 2.73g/cm3 (23°C value), 

and the bulk specific gravity is about 2.6-2.8 g/ml. Strong thermal stability. Melting point 1650 °C to 1730°C, boiling point 2760 °C to 2840°C. 

Insoluble in water, soluble in hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and other inorganic acid solutions.

 It is easy to absorb moisture and scale in low temperature and dry air. Strong acid and alkali resistance, in addition to aqua regia can withstand 

almost all concentrations of lye erosion.

(2) Mechanical strength:

High compressive strength, good wear resistance, not easy to break. It has good electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent plasticity, 

good toughness, a certain elastic modulus, can absorb shock and vibration energy, reduce the adverse effect of stress concentration on precision casting,

 reduce the deformation shrinkage rate of castings and maintain dimensional accuracy, and improve the service life of parts.

(3) Performance:

Easy to shape, for complex shape products can also be formed by adhesive method. Various parts with complex profiles can be pressed on the press. 

It can be used as a filler for the pouring and riser system and various special-shaped sealing rings, baffles, pipe plugs, etc.
